2 bible studies

Yesterday I had 2 bible studies .. The first one was the one in North Sydney (Bible study for workers) and the second one is my youth bible study group. The first one went pretty alright I guess, though I didn't pay attention much to what the speaker said .. *ngaku neh* but it's encouraging to see many christian workers at North Sydney .. Maybe me and hans and tris and erwin can get to know them betta next week .. might try to talk to people next week if possible ...

As in my youth bs, it went alright i guess ... at first everyone was so tired .. They were so quiet .. kayaknya kecapean banget ... They worked and study the whole day. yeah, I guess it's understandable .. It's hard to get them excited about what we learn which is from the book of Acts .. but I realize that in bible study is not about the wisdom of man but what God wants us to hear as a group ... Towards the end of the bible study we discussed about the meaning of "Full of the Spirit", since we are learning from the book of Acts. What does it mean? Should every Christian is filled with the Spirit? Or are we already filled with the Holy SPirit since we became Christian? How should we live by the Spirit and not by flesh? How about miracles? Do we believe in miracles .. It was a VERY interesting discussion last nite .. I noticed that some of my bible study members are quite mature in their thinking already, and some are still growing ... But they were all excited last nite .. We spent about 1/2 hour discussing about this and we came up with what you called a sort of conclusion:

When we became a Christian we have the Holy Spirit within us fully, not half and not 3/4. The term Full of the Spirit refers to live guided by the Spirit of God, live daily producing the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. YES, every Christian should be full with the Holy Spirit, they must choose in their daily struggle for His guidance, His advice and His comfort in facing problems and difficulties. We are also not against those that are speaking in tounge, but definitely not to do it at church unless there is an interpreter ... We agreed that it's one of the gift of the Holy Spirit, and if we or our friends can speak in tounge, it's fine but it's not necessary nor we want to pursue that. Instead we wanna live day by day under Spirit's guidance.

We also talked about other stuffs like, is it possible for the Spirit to speak to us personally and not from reading the bible? What I mean is that the Holy Spirit speaks to us something that is inline to what the bible says, but it's specific to our current situation, for example in Acts, the Spirit told Peter to go to Cornelius place to preach the gospel .. and many things .. heheheh .. In the end it was pretty interesting discussion .. I encouraged them to really read the bible as it is .. go back to the basic and really do it in our lives once we know one truth ... Oh well .. pray that my youth bs can become a true blessing to other people ...
